Atrapado in la fábula = el relato = el cuento,

observé la torre crecer = los eventos seguir su curso

golden chains

Cinco años de planes y nuevos tratos

(de negocios), envueltos en cadenas de oro

= aparentemente muy tractivos, pero esclavizantes

Heard the singers playin’, how we cheered for more

Escuche a los cantantes tocando, como siempre nos echamos porras 

= damos ánimos a pesar de todo
The crowd had rushed together, tryin’ to keep warm

La multitud se ha apresurado a juntarse = reunirse para aportarse calor = solidarizarse

Still the rain kept pourin’, fallin’ on my ears

Pero aún la lluvia se mantiene precipitándose,

callendo sobre mis oídos
